Does People For the American Way have a Monthly Giving program?

Yes. Defenders of Democracy give a convenient monthly contribution to People For the American Way through their credit card or checking account. This ongoing support provides People For the American Way with the essential resources we need to defend our cherished civil rights and constitutional freedoms. Is my donation to People For The American Way tax deductible?

Because we lobby state legislatures, Congress and the White House to protect freedom and democracy for all citizens, contributions or gifts to People For The American Way are not tax deductible as charitable contributions or as business expenses under IRC§162(e). Our affiliated educational organization, People for the American Way Foundation, is classified as a 501(c)(3) organization to which donations are tax-deductible. PFAW Foundation is absolutely prohibited from participating in political campaign activity and does not participate in lobbying. I don’t live in the United States but want to donate. How can I submit an international donation?

To make a donation using an international zip code, please use this form. You may also call 1-800-326-7329 to speak with a Member Services representative to process your donation over the phone.

Do you accept PayPal?

Yes. To donate through PayPal, please use this form.

What is your refund policy?

Like most nonprofit organizations, People For the American Way only offers refunds in the case of a donation error. We will honor requests for such refunds within 60 days of the donation date. All refunds are made using the initial method of payment. If you believe that there is an error with your donation, please contact a Member Services representative at 1-800-326-7329 or pfaw@pfaw.org so we can help resolve the issue.

How can I change my address, phone number, credit-card number, or other membership information?

To update your address, email or credit card information, please call 1-800-326-7329 and ask to speak with a Member Services representative or email us directly at pfaw@pfaw.org. When emailing to change an address, please include both the old and new addresses to ensure that you will not receive duplicate mailings. Please do not send credit-card information via email.

I receive too much mail. Can I request fewer mailings?

Yes. To request that you receive fewer mailings, please call 1-800-326-7329 and ask to speak with a Member Services representative or email us directly at pfaw@pfaw.org.

What should I do if I am receiving duplicate mailings?

If you are receiving duplicate mailings, please call 1-800-326-7329 and ask to speak with a Member Services representative or email us directly at pfaw@pfaw.org. If you email, please include your full name and the address to which mailings are being sent. If you are receiving mailings at multiple addresses or to multiple variations on your name, please be sure to indicate which information is correct.

Does People For the American Way share member names or mailing addresses with other organizations?

People For the American Way may share member names and mailing addresses with other like-minded organizations that we think our members may be interested in hearing from.

I do not want to receive People For the American Way fundraising phone calls. What do I do?

Sometimes when there is an urgent reason or when an immediate action is necessary, People For the American Way will contact members asking them for support.
